Education

The cement industry offers lots of learning opportunities. In this part of our site, we have education resources for teachers and some fun things for kids. You can also fix a school visit to one of our members' cement works in the UK.

For Teachers

We have developed a series of educational units that enable teachers to incorporate cement industry issues into the national curriculum. Our initial set of five units has been designed for key stage 2 and offers opportunities in science, geography and citizenship.

The units have been developed against schemes of work recommended by the Department for Education and Skills. Each has been written by a qualified teacher and tested by a group of other teachers.

While these materials are stand-alone teaching aids, they can also be used in tandem with cement works visits.
