Cement Makers’ Code
The UK Cement Makers' Code was first published in June 2006 and
sets out the values, ethics and standards that should be followed
by all BCA members in pursuit of all their activities. It
sets sustainability principles including: priorities for health and
safety; involvement with local communities; quality of cement
products; and reporting on adherence to the code itself.
The code is incorporated in company management systems and is
audited annually. Compliance with the code is reported in
Performance, the BCA's annual corporate responsibility
report. In parallel with the Cement Makers’ Code, in
conjunction with the Environment Agency, BCA has developed a Code
of Practice for the use of waste-derived fuel.
