Industry Statistics

BCA membership coverage is for the United Kingdom and prior to January 2001 figures were collected on a UK basis.  Since January 2001 figures are collected on a GB basis, i.e. excluding Northern Ireland, to protect commercial confidentiality.

The data collected is available in four main tables, these are:

Table 1 Monthly Cement Monthly Clinker production  BCA Cement production, BCA exports and import, and Domestic Cement Sales

Table 2 Quarterly Cementitious  Cement data that includes all imports and other cementitious materials

Table 3 Quarterly Cement Channel of Sale  Quarterly cement sales to Ready mix, Merchants, Products and Other

Table 4 Quarterly Cement Regional Sales  Quarterly cement sales in Government Regions.  Tables 4a, 4b, 4c and 4d give the Ready mix, Merchants, Products and Other channels of sale respectively

Table 1 is revised Monthly, one month is arrears.  Tables 2, 3 and 4 are revised three monthly, three months in arrears.

Cement industry statistics are also published by the Department for Business Enterprise & Regulatory Reform (BERR) in their Monthly Statistics of Building Materials and Components:
• Table 3 of the Monthly Statement of Bricks, Blocks and Cement and
• Table 8 of the Monthly Statistics of Building Materials and Components.
